Thank You Dr. Wu for Your Many Years of Compassionate Care!

After 42 years as an MD and educator, Dr. Joseph C. Wu will be retiring at the end of January.

Dr. Wu received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the State University of New York Upstate Medical Center in 1974. Upon graduation, he spent the next five years at Yale New Haven Medical Center completing his surgical internship, surgical residency, orthopaedic surgical residency, and was named Chief Resident of Orthopaedic Surgery in 1979.

At Yale University School of Medicine Dr. Wu began his professional career as Assistant Professor in Orthopaedic Surgery. He became attending at Yale School of Medicine upon its inception and has remained active in the Yale Sports Medicine Program. In the past, he has taken care of the New Haven Nighthawks (Senators, Beast) along with numerous other athletes. Dr. Wu was also very active with the Pilot Pen Tennis Tournament for many years.

For the last 21 years he has played a pivotal role in our Center for Orthopaedics division where he helped thousands of patients feel better.

We wish him well and thank him for his many years of care.
